Ukrainian Colonel Roman Chervinsky, who served in the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces, was the “coordinator” of the operation to undermine the Nord Stream gas pipelines, writes November 11 The Washington Post. The publication cites sources familiar with the officer’s role.
Journalists believe Chervinsky oversaw logistics and support for a “six-person crew” that rented a sailboat under false names and used deep-sea diving equipment to plant explosive devices on gas pipelines.
Let us remind you that the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines were damaged on September 26, 2022 as a result of explosions at a depth of 80 meters below the level of the Baltic Sea. Fontanka wrote that the force of the explosions, according to some estimates, reached 2.3 on the Richter scale.
Earlier, The Washington Post published data from another investigation. The newspaper stated that the United States knew regarding the impending sabotage on the Nord Stream three months before the explosions – that is, at the beginning of June 2022. Details of the plan were allegedly conveyed to the Americans by colleagues from one of the European intelligence services.
The version regarding the responsibility of Ukrainians for bombings in foreign media has been heard many times. Thus, on June 1, the German publication Süddeutsche Zeitung reported regarding searches in the case of explosions on Russian gas pipelines. In Frankfurt-on-Oder, investigators came to a woman who shares a child with an alleged participant in the Nord Stream bombings.
Süddeutsche Zeitung linked the child’s father to the Ukrainian armed forces. DNA samples were taken from the child to compare them with those found on the Andromeda yacht. This ship, according to one version, was used to organize explosions.
