The UAS celebrates the 45th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine

Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The Faculty of Medicine, the most emblematic of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) and with greater recognition for its quality in the country, celebrated its 45th anniversary of foundation in an event headed by the Rector, Dr. Jesús Madueña Molina, and by the State Secretary of Health, teacher Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda, among other special guests.

Before the student, teaching and administrative community, as well as the former directors and doctors emeritus, the Rector expressed that this Faculty works for health, well-being and human development, and with collaborative work, with high scientific rigor and a clear profile ethical and humanistic has managed to position itself as one of the best in Mexico.

“Here the social and academic commitment is more than evident, because in addition to diversifying the educational offer, each school year a positive response is given to a growing number of applicants, providing study opportunities to all young people who dream of being professionals in Medicine”, said Madueña Molina.

The university leader recounted the quality of this campus, citing that its graduates have been distinguished with the Award for Academic Excellence awarded by the Pfizer Scientific Institute, the National Academy of Medicine and the Mexican Association of Faculties and Schools of Medicine, have outstanding in the application of the CENEVAL General Exit Exam and has been achieved by the intelligence of the students, the capacity of its teachers, the quality of its facilities and the avant-garde of its processes and equipment.

He highlighted the solidarity of his community by participating in the fight once morest the COVID-19 pandemic, and the training provided to thousands of health professionals and especially the work of students and teachers who joined the national strategy of vaccination.

“This celebration is dedicated to these heroes in white coats, thanking each hour of service provided, each early morning and each sleeplessness, each sacrifice made to respond to a call in the prevention and fight once morest the pandemic; in this battle, many colleagues fell ill or lost their lives”, emphasized the Rector.

On behalf of the Governor, Dr. Rubén Rocha Moya, the State Secretary of Health, Professor Héctor Melesio Cuén Ojeda, congratulated the teaching and administrative staff and the Medicine students and thanked them for the positive impact they bring with their duties in such a sensitive area. such as health, and reiterated the offer of the clinical fields of the various hospitals in the entity for their practices; Also at the request of the IMSS and ISSSTE delegates, members of the Vaccination Command, he recognized the University, its Rector and the Faculty itself for the thousands of students who have participated in the vaccination day.

For his part, the person in charge of the direction of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Luis Alberto González García, pondered that 45 years have passed of providing the majority of doctors who are part of the health system of Sinaloa, the northwest and the country trained with humanism and professional ethics.

In the garden of the esplanade, a plaque alluding to the 45th anniversary of the Faculty of Medicine was unveiled, paying tribute to its students, teachers and medical graduates who gave their time, effort, knowledge and some of their lives in the fight once morest COVID-19.
