His Excellency Mohammed bin Hadi Al Husseini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, headed the UAE delegation participating in the first meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the Group of Twenty (G20) countries for the year 2023, which is being held for the first time under the presidency of the Republic of India for the G20 in Bengaluru, India.
The meeting discussed the priorities set by India’s presidency of the G20 in light of the current global challenges, and ways to move forward in building a dialogue that strengthens international cooperation to ensure the achievement of the group’s priorities and goals.
In his intervention during the meeting, His Excellency Muhammad bin Hadi Al Husseini thanked and appreciated the Presidency of India for the kind reception and generous hospitality.
His Excellency stressed the need for international cooperation and coordination to enhance climate finance, pointing to the importance of enhancing joint international action to set goals and develop strategies that would achieve the best means of financing and investments needed to confront climate change and reduce its repercussions.
On the priorities of the presidency in the field of infrastructure, His Excellency explained that the UAE has built cities of the future by using 5G technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance security, safety and social cohesion, as well as enabling the UAE to reduce carbon emissions, in line with the country’s commitments related to climate.
