On Wednesday, the UAE Cabinet issued Ministerial Resolution No. 13 of 2022, including the inclusion of an individual and 5 terrorist entities in the approved local list of persons, entities and organizations supporting terrorism.
In the details, the sanctions targeted the so-called “Abdo Abdullah Dael Ahmed”, and among the global entities were the Express Exchange and Remittances Company, the Al-Hadaa Exchange Company, and the Moaz Abdullah Dael Company for Import and Export.
To disrupt terrorist financing networks
The statement announced that the decision comes within the framework of the UAE’s keenness to target and disrupt networks associated with the financing of terrorism and its accompanying activities, according to what was reported by the Emirates News Agency.
He also stressed the need for all supervisory authorities to limit any individual or affiliated entities or related to any financial or commercial relationship, and to take the necessary measures according to the laws in force in the country, including the freezing procedure in less than 24 hours.
He stressed that these companies and individuals are linked to the support of the terrorist Houthi militia, which uses these funds to target civilian facilities and civilians.
It is noteworthy that, in September of last year, the UAE listed 38 individuals and 15 entities on the list of terrorism.
The decision came at the time within the framework of Abu Dhabi’s keenness to target and disrupt networks associated with the financing of terrorism and the activities associated with it.
