His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, confirmed that the UAE is under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and the visions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Chairman of the Council of Ministers. The Ministers and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, developed a pioneering experience in adopting future, digital and technological solutions that constitute a pillar to enhance the development efforts sought by the countries of the world, and worked to enhance the sharing of knowledge, expertise and successful experiences through active participation in designing future directions, and organizing leading international conferences And participate in it, with the aim of making the best use of digital opportunities and employing them in the service of societies.
This came during His Excellency’s speech in a panel discussion entitled: “How Technology Can Enhance Communities”, as part of the UAE government’s participation in the “Raisina” dialogue, the leading global conference on international affairs 2023 in its eighth edition in India, which is organized in partnership between the Ministry of Social Affairs and Social Affairs. The Foreign Ministry in India in cooperation with the Observer Research Foundation, and witnesses the participation of more than 100 countries and the presence of a number of ministers, leaders, pioneers of technology, scientists, and experts in strategic affairs.
His Excellency added that the UAE is an essential partner for all countries working to develop various digital technologies, stressing its keenness on global partnerships and closer cooperation frameworks with countries that are moving at a rapid pace to enhance the technical foundations in various fields, which are in line with the strategies and plans of the UAE towards a comprehensive digital future.
Omar Sultan Al Olama pointed out the importance of formulating technological policies that keep pace with the requirements of global development, comprehensive growth and accelerating changes, stressing the need to develop digital and technological opportunities for the development of small and medium enterprises, in a way that supports building a more effective global economy, that invests in the skills of talented entrepreneurs, and builds a flexible generation capable of Adapting to various changes in global economies in light of the great technological revolution.
Participants in the session were Ali Sabri, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, Bhajiant Panda, National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party in India, Dr. Ayoade Alakija, Chair of the African Alliance, WHO Envoy for the Access Accelerator, and Gautam Aggarwal of MasterCard in South Asia.
The session dealt with the challenges of financing and infrastructure in local and international policies, the challenges of increasing the spread of digital technology in societies and companies, how to fully adopt it in various sectors, and the role of digitization in enhancing flexibility and access to societies and strengthening supply chains to achieve sustainable economic development.
The session also discussed how to refine and develop skills in the era of digitization, the importance of formulating appropriate policies that keep pace with the next stage of technological development in various digital sectors, such as artificial intelligence, metaverse, and others, and encouraging platforms that can accelerate the development of individuals to lead the sector globally.
The Raisina Dialogue 2023 is being organized for 3 days in New Delhi, and it is distinguished in its session this year by being held in conjunction with India’s presidency of the Group of Twenty as one of the fastest growing economies in the world, according to the International Monetary Fund.
