On Sunday, February 25, Daniel Olbrychski was a guest in the “Dzień Dobry TVN” studio. The pretext for the meeting in the breakfast room was the play “Unexpected Return”, which had its premiere in Poland at the end of December 2021. So far, the play has been performed on stage over a hundred times. The main theme of the play is the difficult relationship between father and son. The father is played by Daniel Olbrychski, and his son is played by Tomasz Karolak.
Tomasz Karolak did not appear in person at the studio due to illness. Daniel Olbrychski revealed that before going on air, the actor sent him a text message in which he addressed him as “Daddy”. It turns out that while working together, the gentlemen became very close friends.
– I noticed that this wonderful actor is an extremely sensitive, gentle guy, even though he doesn’t seem like it. (…) I think I’ve gained a younger friend. And that’s something wonderful. (…) I have a son the same age as Tomek Karolak, so it’s all so terribly, terribly close – said Daniel Olbrychski in “Dzień Dobry TVN”.

After leaving the breakfast studio, Daniel Olbrychski met another great star of domestic show business, Muniek Stańczyk. The photos taken by photojournalists present on site show that the gentlemen greeted each other warmly. What attracts attention is undoubtedly the colorful shirt that Daniel Olbrychski wore during an interview in “Dzień Dobry TVN”. The actor explained on air that the shirt was chosen by his wife. This is a reference to the play “The Gardener”, in which Olbrychski plays the role of the painter Claude Monet. — My wife said before leaving: You’re trying Monet, and the colors on the shirt are a bit like from his paintings… That’s what Krysia dressed me today – Olbrychski summed up.
