The turnover achieved in Senegal is simply crazy!

The Marketing Department of Lonase revealed that the turnover of the Parifoot industry has reached a peak, exceeding 13 billion CFA francs. According to information from the Sun, this amount does not, however, take into account online betting, which is booming, concentrating the largest stakes, but for which the data is not yet available.

A worrying trend is emerging with more and more young people becoming addicted to Parifoot, seeing it as a quick way to earn money, despite the risks of losses, embezzlement, and addiction.

The misadventures of punters continue to fill the “news stories” section of the media. For example, last April, a school security guard embezzled wages to bet 240,000 CFA francs on Pari Foot. After losing his bet and realizing that he would have to explain himself, he faked an attack and, to make his story more credible, inflicted some injuries on himself.

On October 13, a major trader from Louga, Galaye Fall, handed over 10 million CFA francs to his little brother and commercial agent, Mor Fall, with instructions to deposit them in the bank. The surprise is great when he discovers, following a few days without news, that the money has never been credited to his account. Mor Fall, arrested by the police and located in Tamba, explains: “The accused declares that he fled following losing a bet of 2 million in a football bet taken from the money he had to deposit in the bank” . These stories highlight the risks associated with the growing popularity of Football Gambling in Senegal.
