EKATERINBURG. In the Turinsky District, the prosecutor’s office collected compensation for moral damages from the municipal administration in favor of a minor child who was bitten by a stray dog. As reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk Region, the agency conducted an investigation based on an appeal from a local resident.
It was established that on the evening of February 20, 2024, a 14-year-old child was returning home from school. On the way, a stray dog ran up to him and, having knocked the teenager to the ground, bit him at least three times. With the injuries he received, accompanied by his grandmother, he went to the State Autonomous Healthcare Institution of the Sverdlovsk Region “Turin Central District Hospital named after O.D. Zubov”, where he was diagnosed with bite wounds. Subsequently, the victim underwent a course of injections of anti-rabies serum (against rabies).
“In the Turinsky urban district, measures to deal with stray animals are the responsibility of the district administration, but at the same time, sufficient measures to catch stray dogs have not been taken,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The Turinsky District Prosecutor’s Office filed a claim with the Turinsky Urban District Administration to recover moral damages in favor of the minor. The court satisfied the prosecutor’s claims, recovering 25 thousand rubles from the municipal administration in favor of the child as compensation for moral damages.
The actual execution of the judicial act is under the control of the prosecutor’s office.
