Activists of the Order 9 movement and the families of the abductees claim severe violence today (Wednesday) by the police at the Kerem Shalom crossing. More than ten detainees were arrested on the spot. One of them is Yehuda Dee, the son of Leah (Lucy) Dee and the brother of the late Rina and Maya, who were murdered in an attack at Hamra Junction last Passover.

The protestors arrived at the Kerem Shalom crossing for the eighth day in a row to prevent the entry of convoys of supply and aid trucks to Hamas. According to them, the police arrived in very large forces with cavalry. The Order 9 movement stated in response to Yehuda Di’s arrest: “Shame on the Israel Police and on its leadership that a bereaved brother was arrested and all this in order to allow the introduction of supplies to the Hamas terrorists who murdered his family members. Shame.”

Yevgenia, the mother of Andrey Kozlov, who was kidnapped in the Gaza Strip and came to Israel to work for his release, leads the first force in the Order 9 march: “There is no more just struggle than this. I am not ready for anyone to receive any assistance, when I do not know what is happening with my son.”

Following the reports of arrests among those who prevent humanitarian aid to Hamas, the Tikva Forum of the families of the abductees demand that the Commissioner of Police act immediately to release those detainees: “The Kerem Shalom blockaders are fighting for the IDF soldiers and for the abductees who are in the Hamas tunnels and it is madness to harm them in particular. The police must act according to the rule – Karem Shalom Law and Ayalon Roads Law” argue the forum and add: “The demonstrators, some of them members of kidnapped families and bereaved families, express their anger at the arrival of aid without any compensation regarding the situation of the abductees.”

The Israel Police said: About 300 protesters arrived today at the Kerem Shalom crossing area, which is a closed military area. We will remind that the entry of civilians into the area defined as a closed military area is prohibited.
Some of the protestors tried to repel the security forces while rioting and cursing the forces, the police forces on the spot detained 30 protestors who were taken for questioning.
Police forces with the assistance of the IDF are deployed in the Kerem Shalom crossing area in order to enforce the closed military area order and prevent civilians from entering it, in accordance with the law.
