The Tunisian women’s team includes the sister of the “Carthage Eagles” player

The Tunisian Football Federation, as in the men’s national team, is keen to strengthen the women’s team with professional players in Europe who hold dual citizenship, a strategy that contributed to the development of the level of women’s football in Tunisia during the recent period.

The Tunisian Federation finally succeeded in persuading some new players to strengthen the ranks of the women’s national team, most notably Sherine Tonketti, who is the sister of player Sebastian Tonketti, who previously strengthened the “Carthage Eagles” squad.

And her father, Anwar Tunkti, revealed in a statement to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed on Thursday that Sherine agreed to represent Tunisia for the first time, even though she holds Norwegian citizenship, and will participate in the North African Federation Championship, which will be held in Tunisia between March 14 and 18.

Tunkti is 18 years old, and she is a midfielder for the Norwegian Kroken team, while her brother is currently playing for the Norwegian team Bodo Glimt, and he is still on the expanded list of the Tunisian national team, despite his absence from recent competitions.
