Art critic Tariq Al-Shennawi revealed the truth regarding the marriage of the late artist Abdel Halim Hafez to the late artist Souad Hosni Orfia.
Tariq Al-Shennawy said in his interview on the “New Egypt” program broadcast on “ETC” channel: “I cannot confirm the marriage of Abdel Halim Hafez to Souad Hosni Orfia,” adding: “I cannot confirm the matter or deny it.”
Tariq Al-Shennawi added: “Several years ago, a marriage document appeared for Abdel Halim Hafez and Souad Hosni, and following checking, we found many errors in this document, which indicates that it is not real.”
And Tariq Al-Shennawy continued: “It is certain that Abdel-Halim Hafez loved Souad Hosni,” adding: “The composer Kamal Al-Taweel was a close friend of Abdel-Halim Hafez, and he told me that when Abdel-Halim was sick, I would meet Souad Hosni with him at home.”
And Tariq Al-Shennawi continued: “Everyone knew that there was a marriage project between Abdel Halim Hafez and Souad Hosni.”
