Representative Abdel Rahman Al-Bizri reassured, in an interview with “Voice of All Lebanon” radio, that we are in “the time of seasonal influenza, whose infections are usually recorded in this period of the year, and there is no truth to the existence of a new mutation of Corona.”

He said: “There are two types of influenza, the “A” known as “H1N1”, which is not swine flu as some describe it, and there is the “H3N2” type, and what we are facing today is the first,” calling for “careful attention because influenza is a virus that easily reaches the lungs and is harsh.” It affects certain age groups, such as children, the elderly, and those suffering from immune deficiency and chronic diseases.”

He advised “not to take antibiotics because they do not work with these types of viruses, and the vaccine is also useful in reducing the response to this mutation.”

Regarding the reason behind the large number of infections, Al-Bizri pointed out that “preventive measures in the time of Corona not only prevented the spread of the virus, but also curbed the influenza. However, with the lack of preventive measures, the influenza reappeared and may continue with us until next March.”
