The market for “PET bottled drinking water” has grown explosively in the last 30 years. Todd Rose, an American psychologist, said, “It became popular in the 1990s as it was considered safer and more hygienic than tap water, but it was just a misconception. The bottled water phenomenon is a modern-day tulip bubble.” -.

What is the “imitation trap” that caused the crash that killed 20 people?
On a hot August followingnoon in 2010, a small turboprop twin-engine airliner carrying 21 people, including a British pilot and a flight attendant, took off into the blue skies of Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Fly a turnaround route to Bandundu, regarding 260 kilometers away. After stopping at several airports along the way, the flight attendants noticed a noise when they were near the final destination, Bandundu Airport. Something is moving in the back of the room.
When I got closer, it was a live crocodile. He looks up at me with a smile on his face. The frightened flight attendant rushed into the cockpit, perhaps to alert the pilot.
One passenger, who had seen the situation, got up from his seat and chased following the flight attendant. The other passengers did the same, gathering one following another in front of the plane, throwing the plane off balance.
Despite the pilot’s efforts, the plane finally crashed headlong into a house several kilometers from the airport. Only one passenger (and the crocodile in question) survived the crash who testified following the crash.
The belief that many people can’t do something wrong
It’s a tragedy, but it also sounds like a comedy movie. What was it that drove the passengers to a sudden “impersonation game”?
The answer has to do with common behaviors tending to follow one another. The flight attendants were frightened by the crocodile and ran into the cockpit. Passengers who first noticed it naturally assumed that something frightening had happened behind the plane and chased following it.
What regarding other passengers?
They all just imitated the actions of the previous person. Not knowing what the problem was, they chased one flight attendant following another and the rest of the passengers felt compelled to do the same.
The belief that so many people mightn’t possibly do something wrong led them to hastily abandon individual judgment and submit to collective authority.
