Adipura Prabahaswara is a senior actor known for his antagonistic roles. Now, Adipura is not only known as an actor, but also a preacher and memorizer of the Qur’an.
When he tried his luck in Jakarta and left his hometown, Adipura told how he was given implants or talismans. It is told as a culture in the area for children who will migrate.
“We, right, are from the region, we usually have a culture in that area. Where is the culture if a child wants to leave his village he is provided. Armed with an amulet, give him implants. The implant puts something into our body so that we are guarded by Allah SWT. So that’s the point,” he said Adipura at the Brownis studio, Transmedia, South Jakarta, Monday (17/4/2023).
Adipura told that it was something that was usually done in his village. Adipura departed from a village in the Bandung area, West Java.
He said the statue was attached to his right and left arms and back.
“Yes, it makes you immune. More confident, yes, try (fight) a few times. Just fight, oh, this is how it feels,” he said.
However, Adipura began to worry that implants would actually lead to sin when he began to emigrate and deepen his religion in Islam. 2005 became the point where Adipura realized that he wanted to be a better person. At that time he also memorized the Koran.
Adipura meets his grandfather. According to him, it was his grandfather who inserted the implant into his body.
“From 2006 or 2008 (started memorizing the Qur’an), 2005 we began to realize. I returned to my grandfather because it was the one who gave (implanted) my grandfather. I asked him, ‘If you stab this cake, it will be a sin’, everything kind of at length. My grandfather even laughed,” said Adipura.
“My grandfather said, ‘Here and now I will tell you. What is an implant? It is putting something inside you so that you will be protected by Allah SWT’. What grandfather meant by the implant is in chapter 29 of Al-Ankabut verse 49, ‘Indeed the Qur’an is real verses in the chest.’ When the Al-Qur’an is in the chest (there is) surah 15 Al-Hijr verse 59, ‘We who sent down the Al-Qur’an, we are the ones who preserve the Al-Qur’an’. So when the Al-Qur’an in the our hearts, we are guarded by Allah SWT. Well, that’s the real reason,” he explained.
It turned out that the word ‘susuk’ and the grandfather liked to beat his arms and back were just suggestions. In fact, his grandfather instilled the Koran so that it would really sink into Adipura’s heart.
“So all this time what I’ve been doing (beating my arm) was just for suggestions,” he said. ‘What I actually instilled in your heart is the Qur’an’. We don’t know. Even though it turns out that when the Qur’an is in our hearts, it can take care of us,” he said Adipura.
