Does eating peanuts increase weight before bed?
In this regard, Dr. Karim Gamal, a clinical nutrition specialist, said that peanuts are a useful and appropriate snack in the diet, stressing that eating them before bed does not cause weight gain.

Jamal added that peanuts help with weight loss, because they contribute to curbing appetite, thanks to their good content of protein, dietary fiber, and healthy fats.

The clinical nutrition specialist confirmed that the time of eating does not affect the body mass index, but rather it is related to the amount consumed, pointing out the necessity of eating peanuts at night in moderation.
He explained that the permissible amount of peanuts in the diet – regardless of when you eat them – must not exceed a handful equivalent to the size of a fist.

Jamal revealed that moderation is not the only condition to avoid weight gain when eating peanuts. Rather, one must also choose the raw type of peanuts, because roasted nuts contain a percentage of salt, which causes an increase in sodium in the blood, and thus fluid retention in the body.
He concluded his speech by pointing out that there are other benefits that peanuts provide to the body other than weight loss, most notably:
– Providing the body with energy, vitality and activity.
– Promoting digestive health.
– Strengthening and building muscles.
– Increase the body’s immunity.
– Reducing harmful cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood.
– Strengthening memory.
