Al-Marsad Newspaper: Dr. Marwa Ibrahim, a clinical nutritionist in Egypt, explained the truth regarding what is rumored regarding dark chocolate causing high blood pressure.
She said that dark chocolate consists of cocoa and milk, and has nothing to do with high or low blood pressure, and on the contrary, it contributes to regulating blood pressure rates when it rises, due to the cocoa present in it. According to “Masrawy”.
The therapeutic nutritionist indicated that dark chocolate contains antioxidant flavinoids, which help avoid cardiovascular disorders, adding that it reduces the risk of stroke.
And she continued, it also maintains blood pressure levels, reduces harmful cholesterol levels, and is rich in many nutrients that raise immunity levels and reduce the risk of anemia, in addition to its role in strengthening bones, because it is rich in iron and calcium.
She added, dark chocolate contributes to the functioning of the body’s cells on a regular basis, due to its richness in magnesium, which is useful for muscles, and it is also rich in copper, which is responsible for maintaining the health of the heart and blood vessels, nerve cells, enhancing immunity, and the formation of red blood cells.
