Due to various circumstances, it is possible that several of our readers are looking for a way to hide a contact from their WhatsApp list, however, the tools offered by the application itself (block, delete or archive) do not suit their needs. Therefore, today we share a trick that will give you another option to do this.
This trick will allow you to hide a contact from your WhatsApp list, that is, they will no longer appear with the possibility of sending messages or making calls through the application, but you will be able to keep their contact; this without the need to delete or block it and, of course, without requiring any additional application. Let’s see the details of this below.
The trick to hide a contact in WhatsApp without blocking, deleting or archiving conversations
This trick can be put into practice by both users with Android devices and those with the iOS operating system. To apply it, you just have to do the following:
- On your cell phone, enter the “Contacts” application that you use regularly.
- Once you’re there, find the contact you want to hide from WhatsApp and select it.
- Go to the icon that allows you to edit the contact, usually it is at the top or bottom with the symbol of a pencil.
- Once you do, a new menu will open in which you can edit your contact’s name, number, among other features. In this case, we will select the option to edit the phone number.
- Once you have selected this option, all you have to do is remove the international exit code, which in the case of Mexico is ’52’, but appears as ‘+52’, keeping the ‘+’. That is, if the telephone number is: +5255XXXXXXXX, the number must be registered as: +55XXXXXXXX.
- On the other hand, if the number is found without the international exit code, ie like 55XXXXXXXX, all you have to do is add the ‘+’ symbol.
- Once it is ready, you must save the edit made and, when doing so, you will realize that the option to send messages or call through WhatsApp will no longer be available.
- Since the initial phone number code has been changed, the number cannot be recognized by the WhatsApp application and therefore it will remain hidden from your WhatsApp list, but you will be able to keep the contact.
- Finally, if at any time you want to contact the person through this application, you just have to modify the code as in the beginning.
