The trial of the “Spartans“, who are accused of deceiving the electorate under moral pretenses Ilias Kasidiarispostponed to October 31. The Three-member Misdemeanor Appeal Court decided on the postponement, following the request of the party’s deputies, Athanasios Chalkias and Ioannis Kontis.
Ilias Kasidiaris was present in court and stated that he wishes the trial to proceed.
“I wish the present trial to be held immediately, because the charge in question is highly offensive to my personality. I always proceed on the basis of justice and truth and I am before the court to restore my honor and reputation”, said the convicted leader of the Golden Dawn criminal organization.
The head of the “Spartiates” party was also in court Vasilis Stigas, who is a key witness in the case as his complaints about behind-the-scenes and illegal activities, Greek Mafia and “Don Corleone” were the reason for the investigation of justice.
In the case, 13 persons are accused, of which 11 are being prosecuted for the crime of deceiving the electoral body. Ilias Kasidiaris is given the role of the moral author while a lawyer is prosecuted for complicity.
