In the 15 km Classic Trail race, the prominent Neuquén runner Javier Carriqueo, two-time Olympic and World Cup winner, with the number 4008, was positioned as the best Argentine by finishing in 34th place, with a time of 1:03:11.

This challenging test had the participation of 128 runners, who completed two laps on a 7.5 kilometer circuit. The winner of the race was the athlete from Uganda, Leonar Chemutai, with an impressive time of 56:14.

Other Argentine runners were placed in the classification, with Ezequiel Lopez in position 77, David Snow andn ranked 89 and Brian Burgos in position 98.

In the women’s competition, the best Argentine representative was Clare Mainettiwho finished in 38th place, followed by fernanda martinez in position 52 and Nadia Bernardis in 80th place. The winner of the race was the American Grayson Murphy, who was also crowned in the 2019 edition that took place in Villa La Angostura.

In the Classic Junior category, Diego Rebolledo stood out as the best Argentine by finishing in 45th place, with a time of 33 minutes. The current Argentine Trail champion showed an outstanding performance in this race that brings together runners under 20 years of age. The race had a distance of 7.5 kilometers and a positive slope of 347 meters.

Other Argentine runners who participated in the competition were Ignacio Poza in position 53 and Lautaro Tesio in position 69. In the female category, Shalom Lescano finished in 37th place, followed by Julia Romero in position 39 and Hill Cam in position 46.

With the closure of Austria 2023the second World Cup was completed after the pandemic, with a difference of 8 months compared to the 2022 edition that took place in Thailand. The next World Cup event is scheduled for 2025, in Spain, through the mountains of Canfranc, from September 25 to 28. World Athletics estimates a participation of 1700 runners from 70 countries in this event.
