Her first contact was to be her representative, a role in which he took her to a renowned festival. Then they began a relationship that, between twists and turns, lasted for three years. She was marked by jealousy and violence, according to the Uruguayan newspaper El País. The outcome of this relationship would be tragic: in the early hours of Monday Camejo shot and killed Aguiar.

During the relationship, Aguiar and Camejo had several separations. In each separation, the young woman returned to her parents’ house in Montevideo. The businessman was the owner of La Maison, one of the largest mansions in Punta del Este (valued at USD 5 million).

In each breakup, Aguiar traveled from Maldonado to Montevideo to win back the young woman and, according to the Uruguayan media’s version, then entertained her with good cars. Her relatives doubted whether her cars belonged to him or whether he rented them.

The murdered businessman once simulated the false kidnapping of one of the nephews of his ex-partner, who worked with him at the medicinal cannabis plant that Aguiar had in Salto (and for which he was later denounced for fraud).

Aguiar locked Camejo and his nephew in a hotel and then took a photo of him wearing a hood. When he shared the image, he asked for a ransom because, he claimed, the young man owed money to a drug dealer. The image reached Camejo’s relatives, who asked his partner to intercede and solve the kidnapping. That allowed them to get closer in the relationship.

There were other lies that Aguiar invented to be liked. The businessman contacted actors who posed as his friends and, at a meeting, they told his partner that he had joined the Navy Seal, an elite unit of the US Navy.

This Monday, following threatening her – according to the woman’s defense – Aguiar arrived at the house where her ex-partner lived. It was four in the morning when he parked his Lamborghini at the door. Camejo tried to prevent the businessman from entering, but it was not possible. Then, he took a gun he had and shot him five times in the chest. He then called the emergency, but when the doctors arrived Aguiar was already dead.

The businessman was investigated by the Prosecutor’s Office for complaints made from Canada by the partners of the Boreal medicinal cannabis plant. They accused him of misappropriation, fraud and falsification of documents. In addition, they also asked for his seizure. Two Uruguayan prosecutors are investigating this case and seeking to determine if Aguiar laundered money.

Prosecutor Gilberto Rodríguez ordered Aguiar’s banking secrecy lifted to find out if the murdered businessman had money in his account. On Wednesday, in turn, he met with the lawyers of the Canadian company, who wanted to know details regarding the progress of the investigation.

The case also had repercussions in Canada, the country where the businessman lived until 2019, when he returned to Uruguay to start the cannabis plant project. Aguiar’s ex-wife – who was born in El Salvador but is a Canadian resident – ​​claimed the high-end car that was seized in Punta del Este.

Aguiar lived for several years in Canada, where he established ties with businessmen in the mining sector who saw an opportunity to invest in Uruguay. There he also met Roxana Marroquín, with whom he married and had two children.

The Lamborghini was seized and is at the disposal of Justice until its final destination is defined. His ex-wife is also seized by Canadian Justice.
