At the same time, his health progressively deteriorated. In 1970, just in the last year of the series, he suffered a hemiplegia that forced him, at the age of 69, to move away from the stage forever. His light went out on January 24, 1975, in the tranquility of the sanatorium where he arrived as an actor, because he no longer had money to choose.
