In December 2018, the “Reuzegom” student circle of KU Leuven is in full baptism. Sanda Dia is one of the blues… These new students who are literally bullied as a hazing.
And the members of Reuzegom, they did horrible things to Sanda! On December 4, they made him drink several beers and then an entire bottle of gin. The goal was to keep him drunk as long as possible. They even taped the faucet in his room to prevent him from hydrating!
They made him drink a large amount of fish sauce and forced him to stay in an icy well for hours.
AT At one point, on the evening of December 5, they decided that Sanda didn’t look in top form and took him to the hospital… But it was already too late. He was hypothermic, like his body temperature was almost 10°C below normal! And there it is cardiac arrest, intensive care, On December 7, Sanda succumbs to this mistreatment.
The autopsy revealed that what had killed Sanda was not hypothermia but too high a concentration of salt in the blood… A salt overdose! All because of the fish sauce…
Today, 5 years following the events, 18 members of the student circle have been convicted, among other things, of manslaughter.
