The trade deficit increases by 53.3% at the end of September 2022

SAccording to the Foreign Exchange Office, imports increased by 43.8% to nearly 552.38 billion and exports improved by 37.4% to 317.89 billion dirhams, specifies the Office which has just published its indicators monthly foreign trade reports for September, adding that the coverage rate lost 2.6 points to 57.6%.

In detail, the increase in imports of goods follows the increase in purchases of energy products (+62.82 billion dirhams), semi-finished products (+43 billion dirhams), food products (+23.1 billion dirhams), capital goods (+17.65 billion dirhams), raw products (+13.66 billion dirhams) and finished consumer products (+7.8 billion dirhams), said the same source.

With regard to exports of goods, their increase concerns in particular phosphates and derivatives (+36.68 billion dirhams), automobiles (+20.1 billion dirhams), agriculture and agri-food (+10.55 billion dirhams), textiles and leather (+7 billion dirhams), aeronautics (+5.6 billion dirhams), electronics and electricity (+3.38 billion dirhams).
