– We can confirm that the recommendation in the Lørenskog case has been forwarded to the Oslo state prosecutor’s office, says prosecutor Vibeke Schøyen in the East police district to TV 2 and adds:
– Beyond this, we do not have the opportunity to comment on our recommendation as this is now with the state attorney for assessment. For the same reason, we cannot arrange for an interview in the case either.
Sunday 28 April marks four years since Tom Hagen was arrested at Lørenskog.
He is still charged with having killed his wife, Anne-Elisabeth Hagen, which he denies.
– Expect closure
Hagen’s defender, Svein Holden, tells NRK that he is satisfied that the police have now sent a recommendation to the public prosecutor.
– We naturally expect the result to be that the case once morest Hagen is dropped, says Holden to the channel.
When Anne Elisabeth’s disappearance became known to the public at the beginning of 2019, she had already been missing for ten weeks.
The police believe the 68-year-old woman, who has been missing since 31 October 2018, was killed before she was taken away from the house in Lørenskog.
The police kept the investigation secret for these ten weeks because of the threats to Anne Elisabeth’s life. In a letter left at the Hagen couple’s home, serious threats were made and a demand for several million euros in ransom.
Four accused
Anne-Elisabeth Hagen’s legal aid lawyer, Gard A. Lier, tells TV 2 that he has not been informed that the police have forwarded their recommendations to the public prosecutor.
– I have not been sent an updated list of documents and do not know what that setting is regarding. It is also not usual for us as lawyers to have access to these settings, says Lier.
In addition to Hagen, three other men have been charged in the case. All deny criminal guilt.
