LG’s Gram ultrabooks are known to be the thinnest and lightest on the market and despite this technical constraint, they are capable of good autonomy and have full connectivity. This year once more, the South Korean manufacturer has updated its range and the 17-inch model is currently at 949 euros instead of 1,849.99 euros in the official store.

In order to start the new school year under the best auspices, why not treat yourself to a new laptop? The latest models are constantly gaining in performance and autonomy to allow workers and students alike to be more productive. One of these latest models, the LG Gram 17 (2023), is currently almost half price thanks to a reduction of almost 50% in the official store and is thus offered at a price as light as its chassis.

The LG Gram 17 (2023) in brief

A surprisingly thin and light chassis for a 17-inch format A 13th generation Intel Core i7 with 16 GB of RAM A QHD+ IPS-LCD screen Excellent battery life

Instead of the usual 1,849.99 euros, the LG Gram 17 (2023) is now available on sale at 949 euros in the official store.

Light as a feather, beautiful as a truck

Needless to say, the LG Gram 17 (2023) knows how to be discreet when transporting it in a bag. Despite its 17-inch format, the chassis weighs only 1350 grams and is almost 18 mm thick. One might think at first glance that this finesse would deprive it of complete connectivity, quite the contrary, the LG Gram 17 (2023) has an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.2 ports, two USB-C ports , a microSD card reader and a 3.5 mm jack.

Until then, LG has always been able to provide good quality screens and it continues to do so. Here we find the matte screen introduced with the 2022 model, an IPS-LCD panel in QHD + definition (2560 x 1600 pixels) and in a 16:10 ratio. The brightness and the contrast ratio display standard values, but it is above all in terms of colorimetry that this screen stands out with a coverage of 99% of the DCI-P3 space, which is rather impressive. In short, this screen is of excellent quality.

For office use only

Every year, LG updates the components of its configurations, so it’s no surprise that we see the arrival of a 13th generation Intel Core processor, an Intel Core i7-1360P more precisely. This processor has 12 cores and 16 threads and reaches a maximum clock frequency of 5 GHz, here it is associated with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. This laptop is only suitable for people who are only looking for office use, which means that gamers can go their way despite the on-board graphics solution.

As with connectivity, LG has not fallen into the trap of finesse when it comes to thermal management. The LG Gram 17 never gets too hot thanks to the throttling, the latter slightly restricts performance but not to the point where it becomes disturbing. For storage, this laptop has a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD, a second SSD slot is even available. Finally, like its predecessors, the LG Gram 17 (2023) stands out with excellent autonomy thanks to its 80 Wh battery capable of lasting between 13 and 14 hours.
