The exit door and the regulations of the burned restaurant

The Burro Canaglia restaurant only had one access door to the street: the entrance that leads to Plaza Manuel Becerra, as confirmed by the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, to the media. Although it did not have an emergency exit, he said that it complied with the regulations.

According to the official, from the point of view of the regulations, “it was not necessary” for the premises to have an emergency exit due to the size of the restaurant and its authorized capacity.

At this time, the National Police is investigating the facts and the municipal services are studying the local license.
