The sky here where Do Seon-san Choi lives together is also dizzy
Breaking the primordial stillness, stepping over the clouds
The sound of pony bells knocks on the waist of the ice wall
When the horses stop on a steep snowy mountain
I poop with all my strength to endure death
And that’s a cautionary warning to the horse behind
Tea and the white backbone of the horse-drawn carriage
Jinshagang is still twisted by the chest
Penance makes me thirsty, casting the setting sun

Whoa, I’m out of breath. I turn on the channel TV while breathing in the hot wind with an old fan. It is the road to the ‘Tea Horse Road’ suffering from ‘heaven and dizziness’. It’s winter on the screen of ‘Pony Bells’, but it sounds like it’s hot this summer. It’s almost 37 degrees a while ago, but I’ve been to Apsan. At the words of an old man who said, ‘Then it works’, I stop walking. It must be ‘Juri’ like ‘mortification’ as if having a fever. Even my back is already wet from sweating a lot in the tropical night. People even have hope for ‘tea and salt’. However, it is unfortunate that only the missing houses and rice fields are stuck in the tents of our flood victims. In search of the lost ‘home’, ah, you have to go to the ‘Tea Horse Road’. Poet Choi Do-seon has been active in free poetry since the Dong-A Ilbo Spring Literary Contest Sijo in 1987 and ‘Modern Poetics’ in 1993. His collections of poetry include ‘Winter Memory’ (1994) and ‘Mr. Thirty-nine Nayeon’ (2015). He is a traditionalist poet who expresses a simple life through the aesthetics of refinement and condensation.
