The Middle East is a powder keg and the risk that Lebanon will soon transform into a new Gaza is very high. Meanwhile, the first rumors about the purpose of the Israeli raid are starting to emerge. According to several Israeli television channels, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was the target of the attack carried out against the headquarters of the armed Islamic movement on the outskirts of Beirut. “Target of attack: Nasrallah. The Israeli army is checking whether Hezbollah’s general secretary was in the building located in the heart of Dahiyeh” that was hit, Channel 12 Kan 11, a public channel, reported. So far the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have not made any statement regarding the target of the attacks, particularly whether Nasrallah was in the crosshairs. The Iranian news agency “Tasnim”, however, announced that Nasrallah is safe, adding that “what was published by the Jewish media is not true”.
