The Szombathely Progress has practically ceased

Szombathelyi Haladás was left without an official representative and a certified football player, and withdrew its NB III nomination – it was revealed at the owner’s meeting of the company that operates the football team on Tuesday.

Information on the club’s website According to the company, Tuesday was the last day of office of the former managing director Erzsébet Szántó, and since the members’ meeting did not elect a new managing director in her place, the company was left without an official representative. The representative of the majority owner Haladás Marketing Kft., Tibor Homlok, and the delegate of the municipality, Richard Unger, resigned from the supervisory board. The delegate of the Illés Academy resigned earlier.

“At the members’ meeting, it became clear that Szombathelyi Haladás Kft. no longer has a certified footballer. It has also been decided that Szombathelyi Haladás Kft. will withdraw its NB III entry” – adds the announcement, according to which the nomination might “ideally” be awarded to Haladás VSE or the Illés Academy.

Szombathelyi Haladás finished in 14th place in NB II, but the MLSZ did not grant the club a second-class license either in the first or second tier. The team from Szombathely, whose best result in the 2008/09 season was a bronze medal in NB I, said goodbye to the top division in 2019.
