The Symphony Orchestra of Doctors of France at CH La Chartreuse from May 6 to 8, 2023!

For the second consecutive year, it is in Dijon, within the Center Hospitalier La Chartreuse (CHLC), that some of the musicians of the Symphonic Orchestra of Doctors of France (OSMF) meet from May 6 to 8 to its traditional spring session.

A work of deciphering and detailing the program of the next OSMF charity concert awaits the string instrumentalists, under the direction of Flavien Boy. Chamber music ensembles, with variable geometry, will take advantage of these three days of musical reunion to rehearse and share a few musical moments with the patients and the professionals of the establishment.

If the orchestra returns for the second time to the site of the Center Hospitalier La Chartreuse, it is thanks in particular to the dynamism of Doctor Steve Duong, general practitioner, Head of Pole within this establishment but also solo violin of the Symphony Orchestra Doctors of France!
For this doctor and passionate musician, bringing music as close as possible to the patients he cares for is a wish he has had since his first internships as an intern within the establishment. Concerts of chamber music or symphonic formations, outdoors, within the Chapel and in the very heart of the services are all events that he has been organizing within the CH La Chartreuse for several years. In addition to the joy of sharing these musical moments with people who do not have easy access to concert halls, he notices each time their beneficial effects on patients and on the therapeutic relationship he has with them.

The first edition in 2022 was a great success with patients, their families and professionals. The Management and the Cultural Committee of CH La Chartreuse are happy to welcome back the Orchester Symphonique des Médecins de France for their spring session. Through a cultural policy, they undertake to encourage the development of cultural and artistic activities within the establishment, to promote the hospital heritage of the CHLC (in particular the chapel, classified as a historic monument) and to open it up to the cited.

Dates to remember :
▪ Sunday May 7 (5 p.m.): concert at the Chapel (free admission)
▪ Monday 8 May (10 a.m.-12 p.m.): Musical walks in the departments
