Tarting Georges-Louis Bouchez was an “eminently political and symbolic step”, assures the author of the facts, Etienne Lorent, in an email sent Sunday to the Belga agency. “It was a question of representing a section of the population who wants a policy that is not only made up of media stunts, but which works on the merits and over time,” he adds.
The president of the MR was tarred on Saturday, in a bookstore in Liège, during a signing session for his book. He announced that he would file a complaint, considering in particular that it was “not normal to attack someone physically”. Complaint was filed on Saturday followingnoon, his spokesperson confirmed on Sunday.
Independent manager of a small company in Stoumont, Etienne Lorent claims not to belong to any party. However, he is a CPAS adviser to his town and is part of the local political group “VivrEnsemble”, made up of socialists, ecologists, members of the Committed and citizens, underlines the entourage of Georges-Louis Bouchez.
“My gesture is directed towards a form of politics where communication, image and the search for perpetual buzz inhibit substantive work in the service of our society”, continues the pielist, denouncing the “omnipotent posture” and “the contradictions from the president of the Francophone Liberals.
“His entartage is a response to the obscenity of his media overrepresentation, of which I can hardly be blamed for using the same springs”, finally writes Etienne Lorent who claims to have had, following his arrest, “a lively and interesting exchange” with M Stopper.
