Since its debut in 2016, the SXM Festival has produced an artistic mix of DJs internationally known and other emerging from around the world while highlighting local talent.
Guest artists dominating the international scene travel to Saint Martin every year to perform in front of one of the most loyal and committed music communities. The result is a fertile ground for experimentation and musical discovery, highlighted by the beauty of the festival’s venue, Happy Bay beach.
Attendees can expect famous tunes from Chilean-born minimal icon Ricardo Villalobos, the co-founders of Innervisions AME and the extraordinary live performance of Jan Blomqvist.
Among the other stars, Dj Tennis, the owner of the label Life and Death, the legendary German producer Steve Bug, the multi-instrumentalist Chloé Caillet and the live trio from Copenhagen WhoMadeWho.
The lineup also features world-class artists, including the legendary Dubfire, Canadian favorite Blond:ish, Israeli star Chaim and Grammy-nominated producer Danny Tenaglia. Rounding out the first phase is a diverse mix of veteran and up-and-coming names like Carlita, Behrouz, Sonja Moonear, Hoj, YokoO, Amine K, Raresh, Emanuel Satie, and more.
Participants of the 5-day, 5-night Musical Escape will find themselves cruising effortlessly through secluded beaches, lush dance floors, stunning villas, boat parties and beach clubs from sunrise to sunset.
This unique party format sets the SXM Festival apart from other festivals around the world, guiding its attendees through an eclectic mix of music, culture and discovery throughout their stay. Isolated and nestled in nature, the private beach Happy Bay hosts the SXM festival and houses the iconic stages: Arc and the Ocean stage.
Other magical spots include Boho Beach Cub, a great place to relax and get away from it all during the day, as well as Karakter, which overlooks the Caribbean Sea and offers a spectacular view of SXM airport landings.
There are also Satellite Parties, such as the “Boat Party” which offers the possibility of sailing at sunset on one of the largest lagoons in the Caribbean.
The “Panorama” evening will give participants the chance to party on one of the highest peaks on the island with a breathtaking 360-degree view, where the Cercle with Blond:ish took place last December.
For the 2022 edition, the event will continue to rely on its deep cultural and ecological connection.
During their stay, participants will once more be encouraged to explore the island in order to live a maximum of authentic experiences by visiting the lolos, by discovering the capitals Marigot and Philipsburg, by taking advantage of the many activities, sporting or cultural, without forgetting the discovery of the beaches.
Charitable initiatives will be announced shortly. Past actions being the cleaning of beaches, the construction of playgrounds and the maintenance of basketball courts. This year priority will be given to the promotion of local musical talent. Thus, a very special collaboration was born with the Ebony Steel Orchestra School and the Generation New Status Stm Drumband.
