Laurien van der Graaff and Nadine Fähndrich qualified for the Beijing Olympics team sprint final. They took 4th place in their semi-final, directly qualifying.

The Swiss crossed the line 28”8 behind Germany. Three teams (United States, Austria, Germany) broke away from the third of the six stints in this first semi-final. Behind, the Swiss duo did not shake for 4th place.

The final is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. Switzerland can hardly hope for better than an 8th or a 6th place in this competition which takes place in classic style, a style which suits van der Graaff rather poorly. At the 2021 Worlds in Oberstdorf, where the Swiss tandem had won silver, the event took place in skating.
