Scientists from the USA have found out whether there is a connection between regularly eating cakes and the occurrence of depression. Unfortunately, it exists. Researchers have found that liking sweets increases the risk of developing this mental disorder by 40 percent. The Lancet writes about this.

These conclusions were reached after analyzing the eating behavior of 100 thousand people, many of whom had doctor-confirmed depression and were taking medications.

Scientists do not deny that more research needs to be done to establish the reasons for the relationship between diet and health, but they believe that even the available data is enough to say that the habit of eating healthy food can reduce the risk of depression.
