Chelembra: A first class student accidentally swallowed a wax pencil at school. A student of Pulliparamp SVAUP School is in critical condition. He accidentally swallowed a wax pencil used for drawing at school. Headmaster KP said that the child who was on ventilator in a private hospital in Kozhikode has now been transferred to ICU and is out of danger. Shamim said.
The school authorities also said that the hospital authorities informed that the health condition of the child is improving. The incident took place 10 minutes before leaving the school. A cyber security awareness class for parents was going on while many of the teachers were in the class. It was revealed that the child had swallowed a wax pencil when the class teacher inquired regarding the child following he felt a cough in the class.
At this time, a piece of pencil came out. The child, who felt uncomfortable once more, was immediately taken to the hospital along with teachers and others. A scan also revealed a piece of pencil inside. The rest of the pencil was taken out through a special system. Teachers, PTA and others joined hands to meet the hospital expenses for the poor family member.
