The SV Ried missed the liberation

The wait for the first home win since October 15, 2022 (1-0 against Rapid) continues in the second football league. Relegated SV Guntamatic Ried did not get beyond a 2:2 (2:1) draw against Admira in front of 2750 spectators in the Innviertel Arena on the 34th birthday of coach Maximilian Senft. That’s extremely bitter, especially since the “Vikings”, where 19-year-old midfielder Jonas Mayer made his debut, gave up a 2-0 lead.

But the Innviertler should have received a penalty. Patrick Schmidt brought down Arjan Malic in the 57th minute, but referee Emil Ristoskov’s whistle was silent. That would have been a great chance to make it 3-1, and Marc Andre Schmerböck had another one later (72′).

Ried had twice as many shots (10:5) and 60 percent possession of the ball, but the green-blacks were not particularly compelling from the game. The same was true for the efficient Admira, who in the 35th minute blew a goal out of nowhere (Raphael Galle) to catch up.
