When she opened her café on Tuesday morning, after its traditional closing Monday, Mieke first wondered. She then thought she was the victim of a steering wheel that was surprising to say the least. It was finally a neighbor who explained the truth to him. Which was even more amazing.
But to understand the misadventure of the manager of the “Den Drossaerd” café in Hasselt, you have to go back to the week preceding the events. The neighbors opposite are annoyed by old furniture lying around on the sidewalks. Good material for the trash that remained a little too long for their taste. “They had kindly asked the owner to take everything to the container yard,” says Mieke.
Except that this request remained unanswered. “So last weekend, a kind soul took it all away. “A good deed of which the municipality, also called to intervene, was obviously not made aware. “They were called to pick up bulky waste. This was to be done this Monday, ”adds the manager.

The men from Limburg.net therefore arrived in the street in question on Monday and took the only furniture that seemed to be lying around: plastic chairs and a few tables that were nevertheless stacked. It was actually furniture forming the terrace of the café. “I immediately called Limburg.net. They are investigating the case.”
Contacted by our Flemish colleagues, the director of Limburg.net confirms the error. “I would like to tell something else, but the whole story is true. Our collaborators did not find anything at the address indicated and saw the pile of chairs and the tables a little further. That’s how the mistake happened,” he explains. “We will soon contact Den Drossaerd café and see how we can find a solution. »
In his misfortune, Mieke still relativizes about this loss. “With the rain, it’s not a disaster. »
