DECRYPTION – According to a Cofidis study published this Tuesday, the share of French consumers whose purchasing power has increased peaks at 23%, a level not seen since 2012.

However, not all French people are affected by difficult ends of the month, according to the latest study published this Tuesday by Cofidis. According to the sample questioned by the CSA polling institute for the credit organisation, our fellow citizens are even more numerous in believing that their purchasing power has increased compared to last year. Their proportion has now climbed to 23%, i.e. six points more than in 2023. This is the highest level ever observed since 2012, when the barometer was created.

This optimism is widely shared by young people aged 25 to 34, nearly 40% of whom consider their purchasing power as “pupil”.
