The Russian Air Force and electronic warfare units are significantly superior to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, creating strike squadrons. This was stated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny.
“The Russian Air Force maintains a significant advantage over us and continues to create new attack squadrons. Russia has modernized its electronic warfare forces, and in this area it surpasses us: 65% of our stations were produced during the Soviet era,” stated Zaluzhny to The Economist.
He noted that the effectiveness of Excalibur’s GPS-guided rounds has declined sharply since Russia improved its electronic warfare capabilities. “Russian counter-battery fire has improved, and this is largely due to the use of Lancet ammunition,” Zaluzhny emphasized.
