The “sunshine vitamin” .. an amazing benefit that reduces the risk of diabetes

Experts confirm that vitamin D can reduce the risk of diabetes, as it improves the body’s sensitivity to insulin, the hormone responsible for regulating blood sugar levels.

According to the British newspaper “The Sun”, taking more vitamin D pills was associated with a 15 percent lower chance of developing type 2 diabetes.

The body produces the vitamin when UV rays hit the skin, but it can also be taken as a dietary supplement.

A previous study of more than 300,000 adults in the United Kingdom revealed a causal link between vitamin D deficiency, or what is known as the sunshine vitamin, and mortality.

The results of the study, published in the Journal of Internal Medicine, pointed to the need to maintain healthy levels of vitamin D in the population, as the results linked a low vitamin D state with an increased mortality rate.
