JA DECRYPTION – Faced with climate change, Africa is on the front line. According to Loss and Damage Collaboration – a group that works to ensure vulnerable developing countries get the support they need to deal with loss and damage from climate change – 97% of those affected by extreme events live in developing countries. And this, even though these countries are those which contribute the least to CO2 emissions.
At the same time, most countries on the continent are facing funding difficulties. It is in this context, and in an attempt to respond to these challenges, that the Summit for a new global financial pact, organized in Paris on 22 and 23 June, takes place.
