With four film screenings, the “Summer Cinema” of the Municipality of Kalavryta, which is part of the “Cultural Summer 2024”, begins on Tuesday, July 30. For the first time, Helmou Square in Kalavryta will be transformed into a summer cinema, with film screenings aimed at young and old, residents and visitors.

Tuesday, July 30, 9 p.m., Helmou Square, Kalavryta: PHILOMENA. The story: A British journalist begins to investigate the story of Philomena Lee, a woman who half a century ago was forced by the convent where she was imprisoned to give her child up for adoption. Their common path will lead them to the other side of the Atlantic and to a series of unexpected revelations.

Wednesday, July 31, 9 p.m., Helmou square, Kalavryta: “I, the Terrible 2”. The story: A secret organization, dedicated to the international prosecution of evil, recruits Gru to help them against a new global threat. Although negative at first, he will eventually take it upon himself, along with his Minions and Lucy, to uncover the mastermind responsible.

Friday, August 2, 9 p.m., Helmou square, Kalavryta: “Hotel for Monsters – Hotel Transylvania”. The premise: Dracula builds in Transylvania a tower-luxury resort for all monsters, hiding his existence from humans. At his daughter’s birthday party, however, a young traveler appears out of nowhere.

Saturday, August 3 at 9 p.m., Helmou square, Kalavryta: “A City by the Sea – Manchester by the Sea”. The story: Lonely Lee is shocked by the sudden death of his older brother and finds himself in a difficult position when he learns of the latter’s wish to take over the guardianship of his teenage nephew.
