The victory was important for the Sudanese national team to ensure its continuation in the competition for one of the two qualifying cards for the upcoming African Cup of Nations for Group Nine.
The first half ended with a goalless draw, and in the second half, Mohamed El Hadj Komi managed to score the winning goal via a wonderful scissor kick that hit the Gabonese net in the 67th minute.
The Sudan national team rose to second place in the group with 6 points, two points ahead of the third Mauritania national team, while Gabon’s balance was frozen at 7 points in first place.
The victory is the first for Moroccan coach Badou Al-Zaki with the “Suqur Al-Jedian” team.
