The Joint Ministerial Decision was signed for the granting of a heating allowance to those who use electricity, and from today, December 21, the beneficiaries can submit applications for its grant.
The benefit is granted to natural persons, single or married or widowed or to persons who have entered into a cohabitation agreement or are separated or divorced, who consume electricity to heat their main residence (whether it is owned, leased or granted free of charge).
In order to receive the emergency aid, those interested must meet the following criteria:
a. Income:
Their annual total family income, regardless of its source of origin, real and assumed, amounts to:
– up to 16,000 euros for an unmarried debtor or a widowed or separated debtor
– up to 24,000 euros for a married debtor or the married persons or the parties to the cohabitation agreement who submit a separate tax return or the married persons who submit a tax return based on point b of paragraph 4 of article 67 of Law 4172/2013 or natural persons who have entered into a cohabitation agreement and have submitted a joint tax return without children, which is increased by 5,000 euros for each child.
– up to 29,000 euros for a single-parent family, which is increased by 5,000 euros for each child after the first.
To determine the family status, the number of children, as well as the income criteria, the data from the Personal Income Tax Declaration, for the tax year 2022, are used.
In addition, as long as they are engaged in business activity, the total gross income from business activity of the debtor, spouse or cohabiting partner and dependent children, according to Law 4172/2013, must not exceed 80,000 euros.
b. Real estate:
The total value of the real estate, as it results from the act of administrative determination EN.F.I.A. of the year 2023, debtor, spouse or cohabiting partner and dependents, must not exceed 200,000 euros for singles, widowed or separated debtors and correspondingly the amount of 300,000 euros for married or cohabiting parties and single-parent families .
Amount of emergency aid
The extraordinary aid received by the beneficiaries ranges from 45 to 480 euros for the entire period of application of the measure and is granted to a counter or clearing account, which is issued by the respective supplier.
For its granting, data related to the Postal Codes, municipalities and settlements of the country are used. These are the degree days, which are an indicator of the severity of the climate of an area and are used to calculate the heating loads of a building and the required energy consumption for its heating.
The process
Those interested can submit an application, from today, December 21, 2023, until January 19, 2024, through an application on myAADE ( to join the Register of Beneficiaries of the extraordinary heating aid for the consumption of electricity.
When submitting the request, they declare, responsibly, the benefit number corresponding to their main residence – at the time of submitting the request, while this statement cannot be changed within the time period of providing the emergency aid.
It is noted that the application for an electricity supply number for which a heating allowance has been approved, concerning the winter season 2023-2024, from other sources (oil, natural gas, etc.) is not accepted. It is also not acceptable to use the same electricity supply number for more than one beneficiary for the same period of time, as well as for more than one application from the same VAT number.
