The study campus of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater opens Business

In the Faculty of Theater and Cinema and the Small Block of Halls, the synergy of arts and the opportunities of interdisciplinary art will be concentrated and effectively used. It is a unique space for studies, creativity and research, which allows you to apply the most relevant art and science innovations in practice.

The modern Black Theater Hall with a capacity of over 170 spectators, 9 spacious auditoriums for acting and directing classes and 6 smaller auditoriums for individual work and self-preparation opens its doors to theater studies. 4 dance auditoriums equipped with specialized flooring are fully adapted for contemporary and classical dance studies. The extremely spacious, almost 9 m high White Dance Hall is opened for dance performances.

The new infrastructure for cinema is adapted to all stages of creation, production and distribution: from filming and editing to showing films. Large and small filming studios, make-up workshop, sound recording studio, video and sound editing rooms, light testing auditorium, film screening auditoriums, cinema hall-laboratory (Dolby Atmos sound system) and a 99-seat cinema hall (Dolby surround sound system).

In order to ensure the best possible conditions for teachers and students, 3 modern recreation spaces have been installed in the new Academy building, which will become a place for discussions, cooperation and the generation of new ideas. The new professorship is intended for faculty meetings, discussions and preparation for lectures.

The value of the implemented project for the construction of the first two LMTA study campus buildings is over 29 million. EUR, of which 19 million EUR was financed by the EU regional development fund and the state budget, and EUR 10.2 million. Eur covered LMTA with own and borrowed funds. The investments were intended for the construction works of the first construction phase of the Study Campus, for the purchase of equipment for specialized art studies, creative and research innovations. The design work of the study campus was carried out by UAB “Paleko archstudija” and UAB “Projektų rengimo centras”. The contract work was carried out by UAB “Infes”.

The implementation of the first construction phase of the study campus of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater and the opening of new, modern spaces specially designed for theater, cinema and dance already today influence the development of the Faculty, ensure the competitiveness of studies and create conditions for the development of relations and joint projects with international partners. The successful implementation of the project is a unique event in Lithuanian culture. The new innovation complex of art creation, scientific research and studies will be opened to the general public: LMTA will invite its students and teachers to performances, dance events, film screenings, project presentations, discussions and acquaintance with the creators of the present and future.

The opening of the first LMTA campus buildings will take place on August 30.
