Started earlier this month, the layout of the sections of the spiral ramp on the future Olympic square in the Athletes’ Village was completed on Thursday 17 August.

Within the Village des Athletes des Jeux de Paris 2024 – under construction in the municipalities of Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen and L’Île-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis) – several projects are currently underway.
If the residential buildings must be delivered between October and December 2023, other structures in the 51-hectare eco-district are also being laid out gradually, to meet the needs of the athletes and, ultimately, future residents, but also in a concern to make the site functional and pleasant to live with.
Among these structures, the spiral ramp symbolizes the priority given to the accessibility of the Village by the Organizing Committee for the Games (OCOG) and by all the stakeholders in the Olympic and Paralympic project.

Also, under the supervision of the Olympic Works Delivery Company (SOLIDEO), the various sections making up the structure of the said ramp were installed this week, with the setting up of several exceptional convoys and the mobilization of nearly 40 workers.
In total, seven sections of 10 tonnes each have been placed once morest each other, revealing the appearance of what will constitute the centerpiece of the future Olympic square which will itself be a flagship element of the Athletes’ Village.
In fact, once completely fitted out – with the installation of the railing, cladding and lighting by autumn 2023 – the ramp will provide a point of connection between the residential area and the requalified banks along the Seine. , below the imposing Halle Maxwell.
Offering a secure route 100 meters long and 3 meters wide, the structure was designed by theAgence TER in an atypical form taking up the symbolism of the Olympic rings.
