Syria was affected by the devastating earthquake that shook several provinces in southern Turkey, Monday, with a magnitude of 7.9 on the Richter scale.
And the Syrian Ministry of Health announced that the death toll from the earthquake had risen to 237 deaths and 639 injuries, mostly in Latakia, Aleppo, Hama and Tartous.

- President Bashar al-Assad chaired an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers to discuss the damages of the earthquake that struck the country and the necessary measures, according to the Syrian News Agency “SANA”.
- The Ministry of Defense said that it has mobilized its units, formations and institutions to provide immediate aid and urgent assistance to the people affected by the earthquake in all governorates.
