Francisco Abel Furlán was born in Zárate on November 2, 1960 and began working at the Siderca steel company, owned by Techint. A detail that he shares with his deputy secretary, Naldo Brunelli, who also came from one of the Techint companies. Furlán’s trade union militancy began in Siderca, but he also developed a partisan political task within Peronism. For example, he was a councilor between 2003 and 2007. In 2004 he became deputy secretary of the Campana branch and in 2008 he joined the national secretariat of the metallurgical guild as press secretary. In 2014 Furlán was elected President of the PJ Zárate and in 2015 he became a national deputy for the FPV. As a Peronist leader, Furlán supported Máximo Kirchner to preside over Peronism in the province of Buenos Aires. He was part of the trade union branch of Kirchner’s candidacy.
