The prestigious British critic and Master of Wine had just finished tasting the Chardonnay Brut Nature 2018 sparkling wine from the Sineres Factory, the only one produced in these lands.

“Excellent!” It was not a simple expression: it was the guarantee that the work done and the effort put into that task was on the right track.

Perfil.com spoke with Andrea Fissore (41), who together with her partner, Agustín Sommavilla (38), are responsible for the Sineres Factory boutique winery located on the side of Route 5. They produce regarding 10,000 bottles per year, with the highest quality.

“We already knew regarding the score. But never that we were going to be the revelation of the year or that we were among the best sparkling wines in the country”, remarks Fissore. C.11 years ago they began planting in the Calamuchita Valley and today they compete on an equal footing with “the monsters of the industry in terms of quality, we are small. We don’t have investors or anything, everything was from below, very handmade. It fills us with pride,” she adds.

The achievement is very great for the incipient Cordovan industry. According to Fissore, “there is a very big prejudice with the wines of Córdoba, we have to change that head, mainly in the visitors”, he remarks.

A very special day

One day before the arrival of Tim Atkin to Cordoba lands, Andrea and Agustín were the protagonists of a violent robbery and kidnapping that impacted the national agenda.

On February 23, two thieves entered his premises at gunpoint. They tied them up with seals, threatened to kill them and tried to kidnap the couple’s nine-year-old son. In addition, they took almost two million pesos. In the images that toured the country, Agustín can be seen running and knocking down the criminal who was taking his son.

After the robbery we were in shock and it was the day of the presentation. She called us Nora Singolani, who does the Caminos del Vino in Córdoba and we were wrong, very excited. Nora stood firm and told me that she had to go yes or yes, that it was a unique opportunity, ”she recalls. That call was key in this story. Andrea relates that she drew energy from somewhere, put on makeup and “at Nora’s insistence we went to Córdoba with a couple of bottles. Nora, she forced me! ”, She remarks and thanks her. There they went.

That night Atkin sampled dozens of wines. Until the sparkling Chardonnay Brut Nature 2018 by Andrea and Agustín arrived. “He took a sip, kept it in his mouth and tasted. Excellent! He was heard and we burst into tears. It was a pampering to the soul, following such a heartbreaking day”, Fissore is moved.

That day, the small winery presented him with three sparkling wines, “all above 92 points,” he clarifies. But the best came later, at the thanksgiving dinner organized by the Province in the El Papagayo restaurant. “At dinner they drank our sparkling wine and another wine… the Bórtice, a white wine of 96 from Estancias Las Cañitas”, highlights the wine producer.

“Not only did he taste it, but he also chose it for his food”, Fissore is proud.

Every effort and quality work has its reward. Sineres Factory still does not generate profits to maintain a production or a family, but everything indicates that they are on the right path: for themselves and for Cordovan wines.
