After five months of work, the States General on Abuse submitted their report to Aurore Bergé, Minister of Solidarity and Families, during a restitution day. 70 proposals outline the contours of the next national strategy once morest this scourge, which will be unveiled in November.

As part of the construction of the National Strategy to combat abuse, Aurore Bergé, Minister of Solidarity and Families, and Fadila Khattabi, Minister Delegate in charge of People with Disabilities, received the conclusions of the States General of Abuse on Monday, October 2 last. This major sequence of citizen consultation addressed the issue of mistreatment suffered by the most vulnerable: elderly people, people with disabilities and/or people in precarious situations, with the aim of better preventing, detecting and supporting victims and their loved ones.

This report of the States General on Mistreatment includes 20 findings and 70 proposals resulting from institutional referrals, working groups and self-supported debates. These proposals constitute, with the reports of experts and bodies referred to by the ministers, the basis of the strategy to combat abuse which will be launched in November 2023.

The 70 proposals are structured around 7 objectives

– Objective 1. Better inform people and those around them regarding their rights and recourses, in a transversal manner

– Objective 2. Help professionals to better identify, better understand and better intervene

– Objective 3. Make remedies more accessible

– Objective 4. Better mobilize and coordinate the resources responsible for responding to mistreatment in the territories

– Objective 5. Better support victims

– Objective 6. Include professionals in a dynamic of prevention and power to act

– Objective 7. Create the basis of a new social contract with vulnerable people.
